Laphroaig Quarter Cask Single Malt

Laphroaigh Quarter Cask was inspired by small casks used for storage and transport on donkeys and horses in the 19th century. With industrialization, increasingly larger barrels were used to make maturation and transport more profitable. With smaller barrels, the whiskey has up to 30% more contact with the wooden barrel, which contributes to more intensive maturation. Laphroaig therefore produced quarter casks and poured whiskey from previous storage into these barrels. The whiskey is filtered in the traditional way and bottled at 48% alcohol.
