The Chita

In 1972, Keizo Saji, Suntory's second Master Blender, took an important step in perfecting Japanese grain whiskies, blessed by the riches of Japanese nature and craftsmanship. On the misty and peaceful shores of the Chita Peninsula, Keizo is building a distillery to create high-quality Japanese grain whiskey. To give greater complexity and depth of flavor, Chita whiskey is aged in Spanish wine casks and in American white oak casks.

The result is a lighter and gentler grain whiskey with unique sophistication and a clean finish. Shinji Fukuyo describes CHITA as "the tranquility of Japanese whisky". Like the calm sea waters of the Chita Peninsula on a day of harmonious silence, this ethereal whiskey exudes an unmistakably peaceful spirit.
